TALABAT.COM, the leading online food delivery service provider across the GCC region, has received global accolade for its mobile business and commerce platform by being presented the World Summit Award - Mobile (WSA-Mobile).

The United Nations funded award recognizes Talabat.com for its mobile content and creativity.

The company is seeking to increase users and the number of partner restaurants with a targeted strategy for the country. With 1,200 different restaurants on its portal and applications to date, Talabat.com has served over 7.5 million orders. The company’s app is currently top ranked in the GCC for the IOS food and drink category and has a 4.6 rating on Android, exceeding 1,000,000 downloads.

“We are honored to have received recognition for our mobile business and commerce services from such an esteemed organization. This global award is a testament to our success and growth across the Gulf region, which we hope to continue to build upon. At Talabat.com, we strive to become the primary digital food delivery service in each of the markets we operate in,” said Mohammed Nabil Jaffar, CEO at Talabat.com.

In addition, Talabat.com has been supporting local restaurants in Saudi Arabia. The user-friendly app and website have played a great role in empowering small and medium business in the food industry by allowing them to reach a wider market than would be possible for them on their own.

In 2014, Talabat.com has achieved 125% growth in restaurant sales through its portals & applications for partner restaurants.

“We are very pleased that we are set to exceed our targets for 2014 by achieving 140% growth in orders, and 128% growth of new registrations. With online commerce in the MENA region set to grow to $15 billion by 2015 , we see this as a huge opportunity for our business model to achieve greater success next year and for us to extend our support to local restaurants in the markets in which we operate,” added Mohammad.

In the past, Talabat.com has also received awards such as the Best Internet Company by Arabian Business in 2014, and the “Kuwait e-Award” in 2009 and 2012 in the e-business category from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS). — SG
