JEDDAH — New Al-Wurood International School (NAWIS) Jeddah and Novel International School (NIS) Jeddah qualified from Western Zone for the final phase of the 5th Peevees Cup Junior Football Tournament, organized by the Peevees Group of Schools in the Kingdom.

NAWIS dominated the Western Zone final by beating NIS 6-1. Chief guest Muhammad Shafeeque, principal of Novel International School, awarded the trophies. Vice Principal Peter Ronald, Headmasters Abdul Gafoor and Headmaster George Joseph along with Syed Ismail graced the final.

Mohammed Anzal of NAWIS won the Best Goalkeeper award. Top scorer award was shared by Abdul Rahman of NAWIS and Javed of NIS.

Besides the two teams from Western Zone, five more teams — two from Eastern and three from Central — have already qualified for the final phase of the championship.

Al-Khozama International School Dammam and Dunes International School are the qualifiers from Eastern Zone. Performance award winners from Eastern Zone are:  Best Player — Rizwan (Dunes); Top Scorer — Nazar and Aneesh Kiran; Best Goalkeeper — Aquib (Al-Khozama); Emerging Player — Fahim (Al-Khozama).

Champion International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) which beat New Middle East International School (NMEIS) 1-0 and second runner-up DPS Riyadh qualified for the final round from Central Zone.

Award winners from Central Zone are: Best Player — Daud Shaduli (IISR); Best Goalkeeper — Mohammed Shiyas (Modern International School); Top Scorers — Numairudheen Farhan (NMEIS) and Ashiq Mohammed (Al-Yasmin).

The final round will be hosted by Al-Khozama International School in Dammam. — SG
