In 2011, Haji Husein Alireza & Co. Ltd. (HHA) got the exclusive dealership to import and distribute Geely cars in Saudi Arabia. This year, both companies celebrate the fortification of their successful strategic partnership.

On the sidelines of the launch of the all-new Emgrand GT  2016 in Jeddah, HHA marked the continuous successful partnership with Geely Holding Group with the presence of a high-level delegation from Geely Holding Group led by no less than An Conghui, the president of Geely Holding Group, including the senior VP and Head of Design for Geely.

At the reception,  Ali Husein Alireza, Managing Director of HHA, remarked: “We are very pleased to reach this notable period in the history of the company. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their loyalty over the past years, where they have contributed in making us one of the world’s best Geely dealers. I, as well, would like to thank all our employees for their uncompromising passion and constant pursuit to provide the highest service in order to achieve an outstanding level of customers’ satisfaction.”

He added: “Today we celebrate the launch of a new model,  which is important to us and to Geely brand in Saudi Arabia. The all-new Emgrand GT will represent a benchmark in its category, and will form an ideal option for our clients who wish to own a highly sophisticated car at a reasonable price.”

Meanwhile, An Conghui, President of Geely Holding Group, said: “This indeed is a historical achievement and we are here today to celebrate with Haji Husein Alireza & Co. this outstanding period –  that is the enhancement  of our strategic partnership which saw steady growth in Saudi Arabia,  thanks  to the constant efforts of our permanent partner who is doing its (HHA) best to provide the highest levels of service to the customers in accordance with our values. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my special thanks to Mr. Ali Husein Alireza and his team for their support and constant quest for the success and prosperity of this partnership.”

Engineer Husam Hanbali, General Manager of Geely brand in Saudi Arabia, said launching the all-new Emgrand GT is just the beginning for Geely in 2016, adding “our clients will enjoy various promotional  and exclusive offers  throughout the year.”

Since 2011, Geely cars enjoyed steady growth in Saudi Arabia with the support of Haji Husein Alireza & Co. The dealership started with one showroom and one facility for after-sales services in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province, which helped in the spread of the brand as well as in the provision of maintenance services kingdom-wide.

In the years that followed, the demand for Geely cars rose considerably and additional investments have been made, including the opening of integrated centers kingdom-wide, as well as the enhancement of after-sales service aimed at providing quick car services.

On the sidelines of the press conference, Ali Husein Alireza, Managing Director of HHA, expressed his high optimism and told the Saudi Gazette that he forecast a demand of at least 10,000 units for Emgrand GT this year, pointing out that a good number of customers have already placed the down payment for their order amid increasing worldwide demand for the car.

Locally, he said the price for Emgrand GT ranges from SR59,999 to SR69,999.

Expounding on his strong confidence, Alireza anchored his buoyant outlook on the fact that the car is intended for salaried workers (both Saudis and expats) who like to experience the comfort of luxury and high level of safety while driving at an advantageously fair cost.

He added that the recently unveiled Saudi national budget would, if ever, have an impact only on the sale of big trucks and related vehicles being used in the construction industry. It will not have any bearing on  sedans like Emgrand GT whose market remains strong as many are gainfully employed.

Last year, the company achieved more successes with Geely brand when it registered a sales volume of more than 50,000 cars, or more than 50% of the total sales of Geely Group in the Middle East, making Saudi Arabia the first and largest market for Geely cars in the region.

As the popularity of Geely becomes stronger, the president of Geely Holding Group disclosed plans to diversify its production of cars, revealing at the press conference that it would launch compact SUV by the end of this year and large SUV by next year.

He was also quoted in another report saying that “Geely is officially stating that it will be the first automotive company in China to reach the government’s vision for a 5 liter/100 km fuel directive by 2020. We aim to allow consumers to realize their dream of driving powerful, extremely fuel efficient vehicles.”

Also, An Conghui said that about two-thirds of Geely’s new-energy vehicle sales will come from plug-in hybrids and gasoline-electric hybrids by the end of the decade, with the remaining from battery-electric vehicles. — SG
