DAMMAM/RIYADH/JEDDAH — It was a clean sweep by all CBSE-affiliated schools in the Kingdom when the New Delhi-based board announced the results of Class X examinations on Saturday.
As usual the International Indian School, Dammam, led from the front with the school reporting a 100 percent pass rate and the most number of A1 grade in all subjects.
This year the school presented 1,147 students, out of them 139 scored A1 grade in all five subjects and 10 cumulative grade points (CGPA). Seventy students scored 9.8 CGPA, while a total of 438 students scored above 9 CGPA.
Out of the total number of students, 38 percent scored 90 percent and above. Last year the number of students who scored A1 in all subjects were 90, which this year rose to 139.
In terms of the percentage, the results of International Indian School Jeddah were better than the IISD.
The International Indian School Jubail also reported “astounding” results. According to the school’s principal Syed Hameed, all 338 students who appeared for the examination passed with a record 97 securing 10 CGPA. Ninety-four students scored between 9 and 9.8 CGPA.
Among the private schools, Khozama International School reported 100 percent results. The school retained its history of 100 percent pass with 7 students out of 53 who appeared for the exam securing 10 CGPA.
Dunes International Al-Khobar has outshone, as expected, with a 100 percent success rate.
The New Middle East International School has performed brilliantly, raising the bar of excellence across the schools in Riyadh. Of 115 students who sat the exams, 23 students secured 10 CGPA. In all 54 students scored a CGPA of 9.4 and above.
A jubilant Tabassum Farooqi, principal of New MEIS, said, "It is the outcome of the unrelenting effort and determination of our students and their parents as well as the tireless efforts and commitment of our teachers that have made this possible."
At International Indian School, Riyadh (IISR) all 785 students who sat the exams passed with many of them getting distinctions. Principal S.M. Shaukat Perwez and the management committee congratulated the students on their success.
Students of International Indian Public School, Riyadh (IIPS- SEVA) has brought laurels to the institution by securing excellent results. All students passed with flying colors. Out of 91 students, 23 obtained A1 in all subjects.
The students of Al-Falah International School-DPS, Jeddah, too produced remarkable results in the Class X examinations. Fourteen out of the 93 students, who appeared for the examinations, obtained 10 CGPA while 28 secured 9 CGPA and above.
School Chairman Zia Nadwi congratulated the students on their significant success and lauded their penchant for excellence. Academic Director Humaira Naseem saluted the students. She commented: “This translation of perseverance into a broad blown merit was due to the ceaseless efforts made by our team of talented teachers, versatile students and supportive parents.”
Out of 813 students who had appeared for the examination from Indian International School Jeddah (IISJ), 27 girls and 12 boys scored 10 full CGPA points.
After the introduction of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation System (CCE) by CBSE, the Grade X examination has become less stressful with 70 percent of the marks by way of Formative Assessments (FAs) and Summative Assessment (SA-1) are awarded by the respective schools only. For the remaining 30 percent marks through SA-2, the students have a choice to opt either for school-based evaluation or board-based evaluation.
It means the complete scores of students who opt for school-based evaluation for SA-2 are awarded by their respective schools. In contrast to the general trend, all 813 students of International Indian School, Jeddah, had opted for board-based evaluation in SA-2.
New Al-Wurood International School, Jeddah, reported 100 percent success. A total of 77 students appeared for the exam, out of them 14 scored 10 CGPA points. Al-Yasmin International School, Riyadh, also scored 100 percent success with four students scoring 10 CGPA.
Al-Mawarid International School, Jeddah, secured 100 percent results. Eleven students scored A1 in all subjects.
All 31 students who sat the exams from Novel International School, Jeddah, passed with seven of them receiving full GPA points.
