JAZAN – In two separate incidents, Border Guards in the southern Jazan region seized on Monday 650 kilograms of hashish.
Lt. Col. Saher Al-Harbi, spokesman of Border Guards, said that patrol teams of Border Guards intercepted a boat while entering Saudi waters in Farsan sector. Three Yemenis were arrested and 509.75 kilos of hashish seized from them, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
In another incident, Border Guards foiled attempts to smuggle in hashish through the Yemeni border in Al-Tawal sector, Al-Harbi said. The smugglers ran away following an exchange of gunfire, leaving behind a total of 140 kilos of hashish, he said.
