JOUF — The Anti-Drugs Committee arrested two smugglers for smuggling hashish and amphetamine pills. Jouf Anti-Drugs Committee reported it has arrested a smuggler for attempting to smuggle 49 pieces of hashish. The committee also arrested another smuggler who attempted to smuggle 400 amphetamine pills. The smuggler hid the pills in a metal box and sealed it inside a plastic box.

10 drifters arrested

JOUF — The Traffic Department arrested 10 drifters during the past week. Jouf Qurayyat Traffic Department reported it has organized an intensive campaign during the past week to ensure all road users are complying with traffic law. The laws are in place to ensure the safety of all road users. The department seized 10 buses and 24 other vehicles for a number of violations during the past week. The department also arrested the drivers of the vehicle and forwarded their cases to the pertinent authorities.

JOUF — A driver crossed a red light and caused a road accident on King Saud Road. Jouf Qurayyat Traffic Department reported a driver ran a red light and caused a traffic department vehicle to topple. The accident resulted in the injury of three people including traffic policemen. All victims were transported to the hospital.

Egyptian man drowns

MADINAH — An Egyptian man passed away after drowning in a cistern. The authorities suspect it being a case of homicide. Madinah Civil Defense spokesman Col. Khalid Al-Jehani said the Civil Defense received reports on Monday of a dead Egyptian in a cistern near Al-Suwairqiyah Agricultural Road in Mahd Al-Thahb Governorate. The victim was aged 42 years old. The Civil Defense hauled the victim’s body from the cistern. Investigations reveal a probable homicide.

Two pilgrims arrested

TABUK — The authorities arrested two pilgrims for submitting forged medical reports. Jordanian Minister of Health Mahmoud Al-Shayyab reported the ministry received reports from the Kingdom of two Jordanian pilgrims who had forged their medical reports. The medical reports of the pilgrim’s state that the pilgrims had taken vaccination against meningitis when in actuality they had not. The Jordanian Ministry of Health offers free vaccinations to its pilgrims and there was no excuse for the pilgrims’ crime. The Jordanian Ministry of Health respects the Haj regulations of the Kingdom and will investigate the incident.

JEDDAH — A video went viral of a man harassing his housemaid. Ministry of Labor and Social Development reported a video that went viral of a man who was harassing his housemaid. The video shows the man approaching his housemaid and harassing her. The video shows the maid resisting him and had called the harasser by his name, but he kept harassing her. Social media users have called for an official action by the ministry to penalize the harasser and serve justice to the housemaid. The ministry will look into the video and investigate the incident to ensure its validity.
