IISJ aspiring to be a center of excellence

Mohamed IqbalMessage - from the Chairman - MC, IISJ

On behalf of the School Management Committee, I hereby extend warm greetings to all members of Indian community on this 68th Republic Day of our nation.

Republic Day signifies the date on which the Constitution of India came into force on the 26th of January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.

The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on Nov. 26, 1949, and came into effect on Jan. 26, 1950, with a democratic government system, completing the country’s transition towards becoming an independent republic.

Such days of national relevance and importance take us back to the history and heritage of our nation, history of our freedom struggle movement and development of modern India after Independence.

Under the political and moral leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, our freedom struggle movement got a clear vision, strong determination and new direction incorporating all sections of the society. Many great leaders devoted their lives towards our nation and many leaders sacrificed their lives for it, Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Bhagat Singh, etc.

These great leaders had a vision, a dream about their Motherland. A dream of India where every citizen lives with equal dignity, grace and rights. An India that is the champions of nonviolence and peace. A Bharat where “the mind is without fear and the head is held high, where the clear stream of reason hath not lost its way into dreary desert, sand of dead habit.”
On such occasions, it is the duty of every citizen of India to renew our pledge to do all efforts to strengthen the unity and integrity of our nation and also to honor and promote the unique culture of our nation, ‘unity in diversity’.

Jai Hind

INTERNATIONAL Indian School, Jeddah previously known as Embassy of India School, was established in 1969. From its humble beginning in a makeshift campus with a few dozen students, this pioneer Indian institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has gone from strength to strength to develop remarkably into the second biggest school with about 12,000 students.
The demand for admission is so much that even with three campuses spanning over 28,000 square meters, the school is unable to cater to it.

It is not just the infrastructure that matters when an institution is to be rated. More importantly, it is the quality of education, the competence of faculties, the conducive and optimum environment for nurturing the potentials of students to ensure their overall development and the motivation level of staff that places educational institutions at the higher strata.

IISJ has maintained a steady and progressive graph in the Board Examination results both in quality as well as quantity for which the school and staff were appreciated by the HRD Minister of our country. Over the past years, our grade XII examinees have been awarded the Chapter Topper Awards in different streams.

Our students have been performing equally well in sports and co-curricular activities. IISJ has consistently been the Chapter Champions in Football, Volleyball and Basketball. Our students have represented the Kingdom in ICC Cricket tournaments. The girl athletes qualified for the finals at CBSE Nationals. The IISJ boxers made their debut at the CBSE Nationals with a bang and reached the quarterfinals.

For the past several years, our girls have been adjudged as the best delegation at the prestigious Dar-Al-Hikma Mock United Nation – DAHMUN.
IISJ Scouts made their presence felt at the National Jamboree held in Mysore, Karnataka, India.

It gives us a sense of pride and satisfaction to observe our alumni are well placed in the most prestigious organizations in different countries. However, these achievements and success stories do not make team IISJ complacent.

The IISJ family raises the bar higher after every success. It remains focused on its vision — aspiring to be a center of excellence that develops and nurtures each of its students to the fullest potential in all walks of life. The team makes every possible effort to accomplish the mission.
We do comprehend and realize the challenges that our students will be exposed to as citizens of India and as global citizens. With the given resources, the school adopts effective approaches and pedagogies that help not only to achieve better scores in examinations but also in inculcating values like empathy, confidence, self-esteem, tolerance, acceptance and critical thinking.

On this solemn and august occasion, IISJ renews its pledge to continue to educate and develop Indian children in the city so as to help them excel in all walks of life and positively contribute to the progress and prosperity of our Motherland.
