JEDDAH — For the second year in a row, Al Faisaliya Women Welfare Society represented by Princess Hussa Bint Khalid Center for Social Development held a full day activity and workshops for volunteer work at Dallah Academy on Sunday. The occasion was to celebrate World Social Work Day (WSWD).

The topics at the workshops were about quality in philanthropy work, harmonization between education outcome and labor market, social work and sustainable environment and child protection — the reality and hope.
Khairiah Raheemy, president of the Princess Hussa Bint Khalid Center for Social Development, explained that social and philanthropy work gives one happiness and content and reflexes the real image of social solidarity in our society. “This year we were keen that workshops would discuss major topics such as harmonization between education outcome and labor market in the light of Kingdom›s Vision 2030.” Raheemy said.

He also confirmed the valuable role of volunteers and Al Faisaliya Women Welfare Society›s keenness in similar activities to boost the value of volunteering in philanthropy and social works.

This year, Al Faisaliya Women Welfare Society activities on WSWD include hosting an interactive gathering with audience to discuss “rumors” and their negative impact on the country and “child protection — the reality and hope.”

A workshop on social work and sustainable environment’ was addressed by Dr. Souad Bin Afif, member of Princess Hussa Bint Khalid Center. More workshops were monitored by Najat Oqab (harmonization between education outcome and labor market), Eman Saqqaf (quality in philanthropy work) and Aisha Adel Al Sayed (child protection the reality and hope.)

The event was held under the theme “2030 and Sustainability of Social Work” on the value of sustainable social work. Multiple workshops were hosted with the participation of Safe Childhood, Shaqaiq, Districts’ Centers, Ihsan societies and representation from Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
