Finest Lebanese handcrafts showcased in Jeddah expo

JEDDAH — Finest handmade products varying from cookies, paintings, accessories, traditional Lebanese food, costumes and abaya designs, chocolate arrangements and paintings were at display at the “Lebanese Hands III” exhibition hosted by the Lebanese consulate here on Saturday.

Consul General Ziad Atallah and his wife toured the exhibition that hosted 63 exhibitors from Lebanese community amateurs.

In his welcome speech, Atallah confirmed the strong relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. He also congratulated the Lebanese community basketball team for wining one of Jeddah’s most important tournaments.
‘No Sugar’ exhibitor was specialized in healthy food especially homemade dried fruits. “With our fast-paced daily life, we do not have enough time to prepare healthy food and we eat outside most of the time. I am interested in giving my family healthy snacks even while being outside. Homemade dried fruits is one of the best choices,” she said
Chocolate arrangements and homemade cookies were unique in their taste and presentation.

Handmade accessories and traditional embroidery using traditional materials and designs also attracted visitors to the exhibition.

The exhibition was attended by Ambassador Jamal Bin Bakr Balkheyour; Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Makkah region, Bandar Bin Fahad Al-Fahaid; President of the Arab Tourism Organization, Ali Al-Ayashi; the dean of diplomatic corps and the consuls general of Yemen, USA, UK, Egypt, Bahrain, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, Russia, Palestine and Turkey and Mazen Batterjee, Deputy Chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Turkish consul general was also honored as he was completing his tenure in the Kingdom.

The visitors were Lebanese community members in Jeddah, Saudi businessmen and several Arab families.
