MORE than 100 people from across academia, private sector and government from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States gather on Friday (May 19) at the Innovation to Impact Roundtable to discuss key issues related to science and technology.

The event will cultivate, enhance and promote US and Saudi partnerships, collaborations and intellectual opportunities that will result in the development of new strategies to meet the pressing challenges of tomorrow.

Held at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), leaders from both countries will participate in breakout sessions, a Saudi youth panel and keynote speeches. The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Small & Medium Enterprises General Authority (SMEGA) are co-hosting the event alongside KAUST.

The event will include panel discussions and breakout sessions that focus on:

• Enabling the energy sector

• Embracing the digital revolution

• Forging innovation in agriculture/water

• Designing a futureproof transportation sector

• Revolutionizing health and biosciences

The Innovation to Impact Roundtable comes as the world continues to evolve and respond to shifting priorities within the global economy. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has embarked on a long-term plan that outlines a broad agenda for change called Vision 2030, a blueprint to achieve specific goals and objectives through overarching plans and programs in a number of sectors that will meet the challenges of a changing environment. The event comes as Saudi Arabia is increasing opportunities for partnerships across academic, government and the private sector.
