MAKKAH – Karman Noorul Haq, 92, started growing trees on his farm in Bangladesh 50 years ago and set aside some of the profit for Haj.

He kept working for years to make his dream of performing Haj before his death. Losing his five senses 40 years ago did not make him lose sight of his goal.

His son, Mahiri, said his father insisted on hitting the devil with his stick before he would take off his Ihram clothing. “My father believes that his Haj would only be complete when he does that on the last day of Tashreeq, which was Monday.

We tried to explain to him that it was not necessary but he insisted on doing it.”

His son said they communicate with him through the sign language. “We know what he wants from his finger movement. He loves doing everything on his own.”
