The secret of trust!

Hussein Shobokshi

THE famous American author and historian Francis Fukuyama is known for his bold and profound views and writings, which have become important references in sociology and politics.

One of his most important works, which won widespread acclaim, is the book titled “Trust”. In this book he expressed his opinion in an accurate way that trust is the product of deep and inseparable public policies and culture, and subsequent legislation and economic prosperity is a natural and intuitive state of consequences.

Fukuyama also says that social capital is more important than actual capital, which is clear in our times. Societies with a high degree of social trust alone will be able to establish flexible economic entities that will be able to play and compete with success and privilege in the international economic arena with success and privilege.

Trust is a general idea that is felt by each society individually and appreciated in its own way and has its own standards. This rule is reflected in a “moral” manner in international relations. As the standard of trust becomes stronger, the love and stronger relationship becomes more stronger. This is reflected in the trade and tourism exchange, visits and investments.

This trust explains the strength of relations between European countries and some others after the end of the existence of the Soviet Union on the eastern side and the same after the exit of China from its communist bloc and openness to its neighbors and the West.

All these are new proofs and evidence of the importance of confidence building measures which are an essential part of domestic and foreign policy.

Now there is the enormous challenge facing the coup regime in Qatar. The issue is related to the total loss of confidence between it and the Arab countries of great influence, in addition to its “shaken” confidence with other important international system.

Lack of trust will not be replaced by kissing and hugging of officials, but will require real evidence to confirm that what has happened will not be repeated and that there is regret and an apology for it. Qatar is convicted and it alone needs to prove its innocence in a logical way.

Trust is a building standard between societies and the states and its absence is the practical meaning of the rupture and destruction of all the slogans, intentions, goals and orientations. Trust is inseparable and is present, clear, strong or never present at all.

Here lies the dilemma that is facing Qatar. It is facing a challenge in “acceptance” that it has completely lost from its surroundings. The result of its loss of confidence, which has been broken, is difficult to heal easily.
