JEDDAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and members of the Cabinet congratulated Prince Muhammad Bin Salman on his appointment as crown prince and deputy premier.

Chairing the weekly session of the Cabinet at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday afternoon, the King wished the Crown Prince every success.

King Salman thanked Prince Muhammad Bin Naif for his efforts in the service of the religion and the homeland.

The King also welcomed the new Minister of Interior Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, wishing all success to him and other princes, ministers and officials appointed to their new posts.

Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Essam Bin Saad Bin Saeed said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the Cabinet session that the King thanked Almighty Allah for enabling Muslims to complete their fast in the holy month of Ramadan and millions of Umrah pilgrims to perform their rituals during the holy month in a successful manner.

Essam said the Cabinet praised the security forces for thwarting the terror plot targeting the Grand Mosque in Makkah on the 28th day of the holy month of Ramadan and arresting five terrorists. It also strongly slammed the terror attacks in Qatif.

The Cabinet highlighted the joint statement issued by four Arab states calling to fight terrorism after receiving the response of Qatar to their list of 13 demands. While thanking Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sahab Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his efforts to resolve the crisis, the Cabinet noted that some measures that have been taken by the four states are aimed at the State of Qatar to correct the path being pursued by it to disintegrate the Gulf Cooperation Council as well as to undermine the Arab and world security.
