Hail — A total of 1,564 male and female Saudi senior citizens have enrolled in adult summer awareness and anti-illiteracy campaigns in southern Hail province.

There are 773 men and 791 women attending the 28 centers allotted for the anti-illiteracy campaigns.

Seventeen centers have been allotted for women and 11 for men in several villages of the region.

Director of Adult Education in Hail Education Administration and Supervisor General of the Summer Campaign Humoud Bin Naif Al Ali said that there is an increasing response from senior citizens to the campaign.

He added that the campaign will continue till August 26 with the aim of eradicating illiteracy and spreading education in remote areas.

Muneera Al-Majhadi, executive supervisor of the campaign, said women are taught reading, writing and arithmetic, apart from the correct Islamic Creed (Aqeedah).
