Chinese acrobats bewitch spectators in Jeddah

JEDDAH — Once again the Jungle Land Theme Park in Mersal Village became the venue for a spectacular Chinese circus, captured the attention of thousands of visitors since the start of the Jeddah summer festival.

In an air-conditioned tent, which can accommodate around 2,000 spectators, around 15 young acrobats have been performing daily for one and a half hours exciting and fun-filled acrobatic acts, clownery, martial arts, top technology acts and strength performances.

Haitham Naseer, CEO of Jungle Land, said, “The Chinese circus comes back to Jeddah with more fun and excitement. This year’s circus is promising elaborate multi-colored costumes, aerial artists, acrobats and eye-catching backdrops and effects.”

He added, “We are keen on attracting new events that entertain audiences and capture their imagination. Following the successful run of the Chinese circus last year, we are pleased to host it again as part of the Jeddah Summer Festival 2017. We hope to bring the best of entertainment in order to meet the expectations of the discerning audiences in Jeddah.”

The circus is featuring Chinese performers, with the exception of one very funny clown. The spectators were fascinated by the wonderful light show and performances that included acrobatics, juggling and other incredible stunts that left the crowd cheering for more.

Entry to the circus is free of charge for families. There are three shows daily from 9 p.m. till 1:30 a.m., in addition to other attractions at the amusement park.

This year's summer festival, which is organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, started at Jungle land on July 9 and will continue for a month, featuring hundreds of entertaining activities consisting of cultural programs, competitions, sports, visual art shows, plays for children and families, folklore shows and dances and cultural plays.
