Jeddah — The Council of Ministers on Monday expressed its thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for issuing a number of royal orders which embody his keenness to upgrade State’s agencies to keep abreast of local and international requirements and changes.
The Cabinet, chaired by King Salman at Al-Salam Palace here on Monday, said that these royal orders will help improve efficiency, ensure speedy and accurate decision-making and implementation, and guarantee the highest level of services for citizens, residents and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
The Cabinet stressed that the Kingdom attaches importance to the promotion of welfare of citizens, renews its commitment to achieving sustainable development at the national level and looks forward to cooperating with the United Nations and strategic partners in achieving sustainable development goals locally, regionally and internationally.
The Cabinet renewed the Kingdom’s pride in serving the guests of Allah and providing all facilities to pilgrims and visitors.
It highlighted in this regard the services and facilities provided this year to a record 6.75 million Umrah pilgrims.
Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Al-Awwad said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet discussed a number of topics on local affairs and reviewed reports on the latest developments at regional, Arab and international arenas.
The Cabinet supported the Arab League statement on the latest Israeli developments and violations in Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque. It reiterated the Kingdom’s condemnation and denunciation of the measures taken by Israeli authorities at Al-Aqsa Mosque and its closure.
The Cabinet welcomed the IMF’s commendation on the trends of the Saudi economy and the progress achieved so far in implementing Vision 2030 described by the Fund as a “bold reform” program.
The Cabinet also renewed the Kingdom’s full support for the measures taken by Kuwait against Iranian diplomatic mission in Kuwait after a judicial ruling on the so-called “Abdali Cell” and the participation of Iranian parties in helping and supporting the cell’s members.
