Bellinger blast lifts Dodgers past Twins

NEW YORK — Cody Bellinger hit a go-ahead, three-run home run with one out in the eighth inning, lifting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-4 win against the Minnesota Twins on Monday night.

Minnesota led 4-3 before Bellinger hit the 28th home run of his rookie season off a 0-2 pitch from left-hander Taylor Rogers (5-2). Chris Taylor and Justin Turner singled before Bellinger's latest homer soared over the center field fence.

Marlins 4, Rangers 0

Giancarlo Stanton homered twice to lead the Miami to a victory over Texas. Stanton recorded his 25th career multi-homer game, his seventh this season, and he tied New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge for the major league lead with 32 homers. He hit a solo homer in the first inning off Texas starter Martin Perez and homered in the eighth against Jeremy Jeffress.

Mets 5, Padres 3

Jacob deGrom pitched eight solid innings to win his eighth consecutive start, and Wilmer Flores homered as New York beat San Diego. DeGrom (12-3) limited the Padres to two runs and five hits. He walked two and finished with eight strikeouts. Addison Reed handled the ninth for his 17th save.

Diamondbacks 10, Braves 2

Zack Greinke remained unbeaten at home this season with a strong eight-inning outing, and J.D. Martinez hit his first homer for Arizona in a win over Atlanta. A.J. Pollock had two doubles and a two-run homer, his fifth, while driving in four runs for Arizona, which had dropped two in a row and 11 of 15.

White Sox 3, Cubs 1

Miguel Gonzalez allowed a run in 7 1/3 innings, and the Chicago White Sox snapped a nine-game losing streak by beating the Chicago Cubs. Matt Davidson hit his 19th homer and Adam Engel also went deep for the White Sox.

Indians 6, Reds 2

Carlos Santana homered twice, and Cleveland beat Cincinnati in a makeup game. Josh Tomlin won his third straight start by allowing two runs and four hits in six innings.

Orioles 5, Rays 0

Kevin Gausman pitched six effective innings, Adam Jones homered, and Baltimore handed Tampa Bay a fifth straight loss. Gausman allowed five hits and struck out eight. Manny Machado drove in two runs for Baltimore.

Blue Jays 4, Athletics 2

Russell Martin homered as Toronto beat Oakland.

Francisco Liriano and three relievers combined on a two-hitter for the Blue Jays. Liriano allowed two runs and two hits in five innings.

Astros 13, Phillies 4

Jose Altuve went 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Houston withstood a lengthy rain delay and beat Philadelphia. Alex Bregman went 3-for-5 with a homer and Josh Reddick also had three hits as Houston totaled 18 hits.

Cardinals 8, Rockies 2

Mike Leake tossed seven shutout innings and won for the second time in 10 starts as St. Louis routed Colorado. Leake allowed four singles and St. Louis totaled 12 hits, including three homers. Randal Grichuk homered for the fourth straight game while Jose Martinez and Tommy Pham hit solo homers.

Royals 5, Tigers 3 (12 innings)

Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas opened the 12th inning with back-to-back homers and Kansas City beat Detroit for its sixth straight win. Jorge Bonifacio also homered in his third straight game for Kansas City.

Mariners 4, Red Sox 0

James Paxton pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out 10, and Kyle Seager hit a home run as Seattle defeated Boston. Paxton (10-3) allowed four hits and didn't walk a batter. The strikeout total was a season high. The left-hander didn't allow a baserunner until a one-out single by Jackie Bradley Jr. in the fifth inning.

Pirates 10, Giants 3

Andrew McCutchen and Jordy Mercer slugged three-run homers as Pittsburgh routed San Francisco. McCutchen hit his 18th homer off Matt Cain while Mercer homered off Josh Osich. — Reuters
