NEW YORK — Yasiel Puig hit a tiebreaking home run leading off the seventh inning Saturday for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who continued their historic two-month run by coming back to defeat the New York Mets 7-4 at Citi Field.

The Dodgers (78-32) won for the 23rd time in their last 26 games — losing only to Atlanta during that stretch — and are 43-7 in their last 50. They are the first team to win at least 43 contests during a 50-game stretch since the New York Giants in 1912.

It appeared as if Los Angeles might be headed toward a historic loss when a trio of Mets — Michael Conforto, Wilmer Flores and Curtis Granderson — hit solo home runs in the first inning against Rich Hill. New York’s Seth Lugo carried a no-hitter into the fifth.

Hill and four relievers limited the Mets to three hits the rest of the way. Puig’s homer off Paul Sewald (0-4) made a winner out of Brandon Morrow (4-0), who allowed one walk in one inning.

Cubs 7, Nationals 4: Alex Avila and Willson Contreras each homered and combined to drive in five runs as Chicago snapped a three-game losing streak.

John Lackey (9-9) allowed three runs (two earned) in five innings after going 3-0 with a 3.27 ERA in July. Wade Davis earned his 23rd save despite walking two in the ninth, striking out Bryce Harper to end the game.

Harper hit his 28th home run of the season — off the right field videoboard in the first inning, but could not prevent Washington from losing for the third time in four games. Edwin Jackson (2-2) allowed four runs, five hits and struck out eight.

Red Sox 4, White Sox 1: Drew Pomeranz pitched another strong game and Andrew Benintendi and Jackie Bradley Jr. hit two-run homers to power Boston to its fifth straight victory.

Pomeranz (11-4) won his fifth straight decision spanning 10 starts with 6 1/3 innings of seven-hit ball. He gave up a homer to Tim Anderson on his second pitch and settled in and allowed only singles through the rest of his outing. He hasn’t lost since June 11 and the 11 wins match the career high he set last season.

Benintendi and Bradley connected off James Shields (2-4) in the first and second innings, respectively.

Brewers 3, Rays 0: Zach Davies allowed one hit in seven innings and Milwaukee shut out Tampa Bay for the second straight night.

Hernan Perez hit a solo home run in the ninth for separation in a 1-0 game. The Rays, held scoreless in their last 20 innings, were shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since April 2016, against the Indians and White Sox.

Davies (13-5) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, when Lucas Duda finally broke through with a single. Davies immediately followed by getting Evan Longoria to ground into a double play.

Yankees 2, Indians 1: Chase Headley’s solo home run in the eighth inning broke a tie as New York snapped a four-game losing streak.

Rockies 8, Phillies 5: Jon Gray remained unbeaten at Coors Field with seven strong innings as Colorado cruised to victory over Philadelphia.

Giants 5, Diamondbacks 4 (10 innings): Jarrett Parker hit a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift San Francisco to a come-from-behind victory over Arizona.

Orioles 5, Tigers 2: Welington Castillo and Tim Beckham each homered as part of a late rally that fueled Baltimore’s victory over Detroit.

Braves 7, Marlins 2: Mike Foltynewicz struck out a career-high 11 batters and Freddie Freeman drove in four runs as Atlanta defeated Miami.

Blue Jays 4, Astros 3 (10 innings): Ryan Goins slapped a two-out, two-strike RBI single to left field, scoring Rob Refsnyder with the go-ahead run in the 10th inning of Toronto’s victory over Houston.

Rangers 4, Twins 1: Cole Hamels allowed four hits in his first complete game since Oct. 4, 2015, and Nomar Mazara homered in Texas’ victory over Minnesota.

Cardinals 4, Reds 1: Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer and Lance Lynn allowed one run on three hits through six innings to lift St. Louis over Cincinnati.

Athletics 5, Angels 0: Rookie Paul Blackburn pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings, Rajai Davis had two hits and stole three bases and new catcher Dustin Garneau drove in two runs as Oakland defeated Los Angeles.

Padres 5, Pirates 2: Wil Myers drove in three runs with a double and home run as San Diego defeated Pittsburgh.
