Al Baik Summer Program ends successfully

JEDDAH — The 16th edition of “With Al Baik you are the House Hero” summer program came to an end recently with the participation of more than 580 people, comprising boys and girls from Jeddah and Makkah, aiming to benefit from their summer vacation by learning practical skills.

The celebration of project completion was held at the Vocational Industrial Institute here. The event was attended by Prince Mishaal Bin Majed, governor of Jeddah, officials of the Vocational Industrial Institute in Jeddah, top officials of Al Baik, a large number of students, parents, teachers, program supervisors, trainers and all program supporters.

In the role of Master of the Ceremony, one of program students gave an overview of the program, its achievements and the series of events witnessed during the days of the program.

On the side of the graduation ceremony a documentary film showcased the training program and how students benefited of various skills they received during the training session and how they can implement it in their daily lives.

Eng. Ihssan Abu Ghazaleh, expressed his pleasure at the continuing success of the annual summer program and thanked the governor of Jeddah for his attendance at the final ceremony which underlines the importance and success of the program.

He said “With Al Baik you are the House Hero” summer program comes as part of Al Baik’s community service and aims to put young people on the path that will help them to grow up into becoming socially responsible and caring adults.”

Speaking at ceremony, Bassam Al- Seyofi, supervisor of the program and public relation manager of Al Baik , said the overall objective of the program is to support social development in the Kingdom by giving each new generation the opportunity to learn how to perform simple household tasks, discover and develop their latent talents in order to put them on the path to a bright and fulfilling future.

He added that the Summer Program, which lasted for 4 weeks, is an annual program that provides educational and character-building activities for children within a loving and joyful environment.

In his speech, Al Seyofi explained that program lasted for a period of four weeks and consists of a series of instructional courses, which teach useful and practical skills that the students can apply in their homes, schools and future workplaces.

The training courses for boys aged between 12-18 years included: Introduction to Workshop Basics; Car Maintenance; Electrical Basics and Safety; First Aid Procedures; Fire Safety and Prevention; and House Maintenance, Painting and this year introduced how to maintain digital devices like mobiles and IPDs.
