JEDDAH – The weekly session of the Council of Ministers will be held on Tuesday instead of Monday on a regular basis, according to the secretary general of the Cabinet.
He thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for approving the measure, saying that this would contribute to further strengthening the government’s performance and achieve integration in the works of all government organizations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The secretary general said that the official weekly working days for all ministries, government organizations and financial institutions are from Sunday to Thursday. Hence, the general secretariat of the Cabinet does not get sufficient time to make necessary preparations to hold the Council session on Monday — the second working day of the week. The decision was also taken in the light of the constitution of the Council of Political and Security Affairs and the Council of Economic and Development Affairs. A royal approval was accorded for changing the date of the Cabinet session, he added.
