JEDDAH — Zahra Barakati, the young Saudi woman who lost her arm while working in a factory in Madinah, said the compensation ordered to her by the court was not enough to pay the cost of an artificial arm to be made for her in India, according to local daily Al-Madina on Sunday.
Barakai said the Indian hospital, which offered to make her an artificial arm, asked for SR100,000 to do the job while the compensation was only SR40,000.
"I am now at a loss on how to cover the difference of SR60,000," she said, adding that she has not yet been paid the compensation money which the court has ordered.
She said the court, which ordered the compensation for her, has completely acquitted the factory of any wrongdoing.
"The sum demanded by the Indian hospital is far beyond my financial capabilities even after the compensation money is paid," she said.
