Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, signs the first of a series of contracts for a facelift of Jeddah’s entry point to the city from the direction of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport. The project, called “Jeddah Smile Gardens” is meant for beautification of the intersection of Al-Nuzha Road and Madinah Road. The beautification project that covers 600,000 sq. meters would consist of five poles representing the five pillars of Islam, each 19m height with laser lights, in addition to two giant structures highlighting the name Jeddah in English and Arabic languages besides plantation of 20,000 trees, 75 date palms, and natural and artificial grass on an area covering over 176,000 sq. meters.
