Crown prince meets senior US officials

JEDDAH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, met with senior US administration officials, including Jared Kushner, senior advisor to President Donald Trump, in Jeddah on Tuesday. The US delegation also included Jason Greenblatt, special presidential representative for international negotiations, and Dina Powell, deputy national security advisor for strategy.

During the meeting, the two sides emphasized their commitment to reinforce bilateral relations and close cooperation. They agreed to enhance common interests in realizing genuine and lasting peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis, as well as in bringing about security, stability and prosperity in the Middle East.

The two sides also reaffirmed common priority in cutting off all sorts of support for terrorists and extremists and to develop ongoing coordination for the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology.

The meeting was also attended by Prince Khalid Bin Salman, Saudi ambassador to the United States, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Musaed Al-Ayban, and Advisor at the Secretariat of the Cabinet Yasser Al-Rumayan.
