MAKKAH - Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense graced the annual ceremony for inspecting the Haj security forces and agencies participating in the implementation of the general plan for the 2017 (1438H) Haj season. The ceremony was held at the Special Emergency Forces Camp in Makkah, Saudi Press Agency reported Wednesday.
This was in the presence of Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, minister of interior and chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee; Prince Saud Bin Khaled Al-Faisal, deputy emir of Madinah province; Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz, deputy emir of Makkah province; ministers who are members of the Supreme Haj Committee; members of the Central Haj Committee and commanders of the security sectors.
Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the Crown Prince’s patronage of this occasion and highlighted the Kingdom's readiness to serve the pilgrims. He stressed its capability to protect its security and safety.
He further said: “The Kingdom has been honored to serve the Guests of Allah and work hard for their comfort and security.”
He added that since its founding by the late King Abdulaziz (may Allah have mercy on his soul), the Kingdom has spared no effort to serve the Haj and pilgrims. It carried out mega projects in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites. The efforts doubled during the era of generosity, growth and development — the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
The Haj Security Forces parade was impressive. The parade inspection was meant to make sure that all the sectors participating in the Haj security task are ready to provide the highest levels of security and safety for pilgrims.
Several security helicopters took part in a drill to show their readiness to monitor crowd density of pilgrims, vehicles and machinery in different parts of the holy sites.
The Special Emergency Forces then presented an anti-terrorism drill before the Crown Prince. The drill showed the best use of hi-tech, martial arts skills by the security men and also an exercise in cleaning buildings of outlaws. — SPA
