JEDDAH — Eid Al Adha holidays turned tragic for an Indian expatriate family as their car met with an accident in Central Province, killing the couple and their child and injuring three others.

The family was traveling from Riyadh to Abha to spend their holidays with a relative, who lives there, when the crash occurred on Sunday afternoon. The family and friends are now struggling for the last three days visiting various government entities in Aflaj in order to complete the mandatory legal documents.

Abdul Rahman, who was working with a telecommunication networking company in Riyadh and his wife, Qursheed Banu, were traveling to Abha with their children Mohammed Furqan (14), Faiza (12) and Fouzia (10) and their family friend Muzaffer.

Following the accident Abdul Rahman, Qursheed Banu and their youngest daughter Fouzia died on the spot with Muzaffer critically injured. He was shifted to Riyadh where he is battling for the life. Furqan and Faiza were both injured with multiple wounds and fracture and are out of danger and the siblings, following their discharge from the hospital in Aflaj, are now living with a friend of their father in Rawdha Street in Riyadh, according to family sources.

Around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, their car, with Abdul Rahman at the wheel, met with an accident near Aflaj, nearly 300 kms away from Riyadh, the family sources added. The dead bodies are still at Aflaj General Hospital in Aflaj town. The relatives have been working on the legal formalities needed to obtain the bodies of the dead, and bury them in Riyadh. "We are facing one hassle after another in completing the documentation in Aflaj and we are exhausted," members of the grief-stricken family said.

The deceased Abdul Rahman hailed from Mahbubnagar in southern Indian state Telangana and Qursheed was from Bengaluru.
