RIYADH – A pilot and a soldier of the United Arab Emirates have been killed in separate incidents in Yemen while taking part in a military operation.
Col. Turki Al-Malki, spokesman of the Arab Coalition Forces for supporting the legitimacy in Yemen, announced the martyrdom of Second-Lieutenant Pilot Sultan Ali Al-Naqbi as his plane fell into the Red Sea following a technical malfunction when the pilot had been on a reconnaissance mission at around 9.45 a.m. on Monday off Yemen’s Red Sea coast.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Malki said the Arab Coalition Command has offered condolences to the family of the martyr, praying to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in eternal peace and bestow solace on his family.
The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces announced the martyrdom of First Sergeant Nasser Garib Al-Mazroui,who succumbed to previous injuries he sustained during his participation in the Arab Coalition’s military operation in Yemen.
