JEDDAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Friday strongly condemned the terror attack at London Underground train. The King sent a cable to British Prime Minister Theresa May, offering his deep condolence over the incident.

“We came to know about the terror attack that took place in London, resulting in injuries. We denounce, in the strongest terms, this disgraceful terrorist act, and wish a speedy recovery for the injured,” he said in the cable.

King Salman reiterated the Kingdom’s firm position in rejecting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The Monarch also highlighted the significance of global efforts to combat and eliminate the scourge of terror.

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, also sent a similar cable to the British prime minister.

Earlier, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the terror attack. The source also reiterated the Kingdom’s solidarity with the United Kingdom and its stand with it against terrorism and extremism.

Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the terrorist blast that targeted London underground station, resulting in casualties. In a statement, OIC reaffirmed its total rejection of all forms and manifestations of terrorism and reiterated its steadfast stance against terrorism, all over the world.

The pan Islamic body reaffirmed solidarity with the British government and people, calling for orchestrating concerted efforts, at all levels, in addition to enhancing joint action to fight the scourge of terrorism and to uproot it as it poses grave threat to world peace and security.

At least 22 people were injured after a bomb detonated in a packed London Underground train during the morning rush hour on Friday. The UK terror threat has been increased to its highest level as police continue the hunt for the person behind the Tube bombing in south-west London.
