September 23, 2017

AMMAN — The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that the theme for the 2017 Africa and Middle East Aviation and Aeropolitical Affairs Day will be “Disrupting through Innovation.”

“Disruptive changes create disruptive opportunities. Anticipating, preparing for and identifying how new technologies such as block chain, big data and artificial intelligence can and will affect aviation will mean the difference between success and failure for companies in the aviation industry of the future. The conference provides a platform to discuss disruptive scenarios and how emerging and disruptive technologies can be used to meet the needs of an increasingly complex and connected passenger,” said Muhammad Ali Albakri, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Africa and the Middle East.

The 2017 Africa and the Middle East Aviation (AME) and Aeropolitical Affairs Day will take place on Oct. 4-5, 2017 at the Dead Sea, Jordan. Speakers include: Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, Eng. Jameel Mujahed, Minister of Transport of Jordan, Stefan Pichler – CEO, Royal Jordanian; Abdul Wahab Teffaha – Secretary General, Arab Air Carriers Organization.

Sessions tracks will address The Reality of Disruption, Strategies & Tactics for Aviation’s Next Evolution, The Impact of Technological Innovation, One Order: Complementing Industry Transformation initiated by NDC. — SG
