JEDDAH — Malaysia expects more trade with Saudi Arabia and looks forward to increase its export to the Saudi market, said the Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Dato Sri Mustapa Muhamed.

During his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and following the opening of the new showroom of National Solution Company for the Malaysia-made Nikkon LED lighting products here in Jeddah, the minister told Saudi Gazette that he is not satisfied with the presence of Malaysian products in Saudi Arabia.

“Sure, I am not satisfied because Saudi Arabia is a huge and diverse market that Malaysia hopes will provide more exposure to its companies expanding overseas,” he said.

Speaking about the current trade situation with Saudi Arabia, the trade minister said that the cooperation between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia has increased gradually and jumped exponentially to $4.36 billion in 2016.

From his side, Alaa Al Tamimi, member of the board of National Solution Company, praised the quality of Malaysian products and the high acceptance they have here in Saudi Arabia and the region.

He said “Malaysian products exported worldwide receive much admiration and respect from importing countries due to its high quality and reliability.”

Al Tamimi affirmed that through such trade cooperation with Malaysia, the National Solution company will establish soon the first Saudi-Malaysian factory specialized in the manufacture of LED lighting, and the company has already obtained a patent in its technology for the manufacture of lighting.
