RIYADH — With 90 percent of organizations investing in the Internet of Things by 2019, business transformation enabler SAP will showcase how the Internet of Things can drive the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s digital business competitiveness at GITEX Technology Week 2017.

By 2025, research firm IDC predicts there will be 80 billion Internet of Things devices worldwide, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and the customer experience. To boost digital competitiveness, 90 percent of companies plan to invest in Internet of Things projects over the next 12-24 months.

As the GITEX Business Transformation Partner, SAP will support the Kingdom’s adoption of the Internet of Things. The SAP stand will showcase Internet of Things in Live Airports, the SAP Leonardo Experience for the recently launched digital innovation system, and SAP Blockchain for Real Estate.

“Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020 are catalyzing business innovation with technology across key sectors such as government, oil and gas, and banking and finance. CIOs across the Kingdom want to leverage cloud-based Internet of Things for new digital business models. GITEX Technology Week presents a vital platform for CIOs to experience SAP’s practical Internet of Things use cases,” said Ahmed Al-Faifi, Managing Director, SAP Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen.

GITEX attendees will also be able to experience SAP’s cloud innovations in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and machine learning. Attendees can hear the latest trends and insights from SAP experts at the GITEX Vertical Days conference sessions on Intelligent Cities and Smart Manufacturing.

Visitors can also learn about winnovate, powered by SAP. The newly-launched initiative helps the region to embrace innovation by offering collaborative learning opportunities and engaging programs based on various innovation methods. It is a catalyst for enquiring minds that are open to ground-breaking thinking methodologies and supports individuals and organizations alike.

At GITEX Technology Week 2017, SAP will exhibit under the theme of “Empathy to Action” at the Dubai World Trade Centre. — SG
