24th Cairo International Motor Show comes to an end

CAIRO — The 24th edition of Automech Formula was recently concluded in Cairo. The five days event started from 20th of September to 23rd at Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Centre (CICC). About 25 automotive companies showcased their latest release with a record number of attendees.

The car categories included the luxury brands like Mercedes Benz, BMW and Mini Cooper.

Despite the huge increase in vehicles' prices in Egypt after the currency floating in 2016, many companies presented special prices over the five days. This attracted many of the visitors to buy new cars. The companies also provided an exclusive offer and installment programs for the buyers.

The exhibition included many entertainment shows and giveaways to the visitors.

Revolta Egypt launched the first electric car in Egypt, during the Automech Formula. The company said that there will be charging stations for these cars in cooperation with Watania Company; there will be many locations around the country, and the charging of the car takes about 25 minutes by 45 EGP and covers about 250 to 280 KM.

Revolta also said that reducing the use of the gas will reduce the cost. They added that it’s easy to recharge the car by connecting it to the electricity cable in any garage.

The show also witnessed the display of new brands from China. About five companies showcased different cars.

This year witnessed the absence of 21 companies comparing to last year’s show.

Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt showcased many antique cars. It also included a competition for the best car and the winner was named at the last day of the exhibition.
