Noor Education Society highlights issues

— The Noor Educational Society, Jeddah-based philanthropic forum, organized a reception here recently marking their annual function.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-President Khalid Hussain Madani briefed all on the detailed strategies that according to him ‘needs to be streamlined with the help of other social outfits for the betterment of the community’.

Introducing the activities of the society, Madani said washing, shrouding and burying the unknown dead is a major problem faced by Muslims of Telangana, especially Hyderabad, these days. Because of this, the society has initiated a program to assist the needy people in fulfilling the rights of the dead.

The society also extends assistance for the burial of unclaimed bodies of people who die in the streets, he said. Madani pointed out that this is a problem that affects not just the poor but other segments of society as well.

VP of the society said: “We ought to go to the root cause of the social problems and thereby address its solutions. For this we underscore the importance of education in deprived youth of our community in India,”

For this cause President Zaheeruddin Qadri along with other officials visited many places and started a small school and tailoring center in Balapur Hyderabad.

He said, “General secretary Liaqat Ali Khan, Ahmed Mohiuddin and others handed a memorandum addressed to Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mahmoud Ali. In the memorandum they requested the government of Telangana to find suitable land for a Muslim graveyard in Hyderabad.”

Treasurer of the society Munawar Khan said, “Prominent members and well-wishers of Noor Educational Society support this noble cause with their contributions and this is a good initiative.”

Joint secretory Mohd Yousuf said “our effort publicity through different media channels bringing more helping hands to us.”

An urgent need of an ambulance service cooperation from Seva Samithi was also discussed in the program.

Aslam Afghani proposed vote of thanks while program concluded with a supplication by Khalid Hussain Madani.
