New York — Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO), the world’s largest entrepreneurial and financial empowerment initiative, recently announced the appointment of the Middle East and North Africa country ambassadors for 2017.
The WED ambassadors are appointed in a voluntary position representing over 144 countries worldwide in an effort to support, empower and celebrate women entrepreneurs on every continent.
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day ambassadors are appointed and signed on for a period of three years working together under the supervision of a regional ambassador as part of the WEDO global strategy set by Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Founder, President and World Ambassador Wendy Diamond. The Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Middle East and North Africa ambassadors for 2017 – 2019 include:
WED MENA Regional Ambassador – Sarah Al Ayed, WED MENA Regional Ambassador – Lynn Zovighian, WED Ambassador Lebanon – Lamice Joujou, WED Ambassador Saudi Arabia – Suha Mousa, WED Ambassador United Arab Emirates – Moza AlOtaiba, WED Ambassador Oman – Sharifa AlBarami, WED Ambassador Kuwait – Maha AlBaghli, WED Ambassador Qatar – AlAnoud Hamad Al Thani, WED Ambassador Bahrain – Nada Alawi, WED Ambassador Sudan – Hanan Abbas, WED Ambassador Palestine – Fida Malki, WED Ambassador Egypt – May Abel Asim, WED Ambassador Jordan – Fida Taher, WED Ambassador Libya – Hala Bugaighis, WED Ambassador Morocco – Hafsa Benmchich.
The WED MENA ambassadors will be launching a series of initiatives and campaigns in support of entrepreneurial development and support for women in the MENA region. Established entrepreneurs and leading businesswomen in their fields, each ambassador brings a host of experience and opportunity for innovation and development for women entrepreneurs.

The ambassadors have been working diligently to create events simultaneously with WED’s annual event which will take place on Friday, November 17th at the United Nations in New York City. Everyone will come together to join WED’s mission in alleviating poverty by empowering, celebrating and supporting women in business worldwide.
