JEDDAH — Saudia Cargo reported that one of its planes veered off runway during takeoff at Maastricht airport in the Netherlands Saturday night.

SV916 taking off from Maastricht to Jeddah suffered a technical problem in one of its engines that resulted in the plane veering off the runway, the company said in a statement.

It said the incident did not result in any injuries or damage to cargo or equipment. Saudia Cargo is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities investigating the cause of the technical problem in the Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which is owned and operated by ACT, and is leased by Saudi Arabian Airlines, the statement added. — SG
