OSG welcomes new members

November 16, 2017

JEDDAH — The Overseas Samanwaya Group (OSG) Jeddah President Shoukath Khan and OSG committee members welcomed new members to the group. The new members joined with the will to contribute to the community, under the aegis of OSG.

The fact that the group boasts members from maximum states of India reflects the ethos of the nation and this enticed the new members to join forces with OSG.

OSG’s work in the urban areas in the cities of the Kingdom and the new focus on working in remote areas by making zonal committees along with main committee group has also enabled the group to swell its numbers.

Many of OSG’s programs were discussed and are in the pipeline — in coming months and for next quarter — like health checkup & blood donation camp, cricket tournament and introducing cultural activities program showcasing Indian culture and many more.

Shoukath also took the opportunity to thank members for their volunteering during Amnesty and Haj. “I would like to thank our volunteers who worked during the Amnesty ’2017 program and Haj ’2017. In the amnesty program our volunteers worked along other groups in coordination of CGI@Jeddah in premises of Indian Consulate. The OSG Volunteer work in Haj ’2017 was successful and hopefully in the coming years we will continue to provide this service.”

Committee members Anil Nair (Kerala), Abdul Waheed (Rajasthan), Shahir Shan (Kerala), Anandu (Kerala), Praveen Pillai (Kerala), Syed Ali (Telangana), Sadek (Telangana), Akram (Rajasthan) and Islam (Rajasthan) also shared their views and welcomed the newcomers. — SG
