Darul Ilm Jeddah celebrates annual convocation function

— “Religious education must be our top priority, it is the most important need of the time, no education is better than Islamic education,” said president Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Naveed Afroze Naveed, on the 21st annual convocation ceremony of Darul Ilm Jeddah recently at the Darbar Hall at Shadab restaurant.

It was organized by the Bazm-e-Tulba-E-Qadeem Wa Muhibban-E-Jamia Nizamia (Alumni of Jamia Nizamia, Hyderabad). Naveed shed light on religious education and thoughts and explained its need by saying, ‘it shapes one’s character.’

Darul Ilm Jeddah is an affiliated educational institution of Jamia Nizamia, one of the oldest Islamic universities in Hyderabad, India. The university’s alumni association, Old Boys Association and fans of Jamia Nizamia, organized the event, under the aegis of alumni founder president Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Naveed Afroze Naveed.

Qazi Mohd Maslahuddin Jaweed Siddiqui and vice-president of the education committee of the alumni association presided over the gathering. The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Abdul Salam Aziz Siddiqui Anwaari, general secretary of the alumni association, followed by a heart-touching Naat by Hafiz Mohammed Qari Syed Abulhasan Qadri, teacher at Jamia Nizamia. Hafiz Mohd Nizamuddin Ghouri compered the program.

Maulana Hafiz Hyder Ali Khan Quadri presented a brief introduction of Jamia Nizamia and the alumni association.

The general secretary of the alumni association presented the annual educational report and said that this year 65 students were admitted and 60 passed their exams.

Syed Imaduddin Moazam Qadri, Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Abdul Salam, vice president Bazm, Hafiz and Qari Maulana Syed Shah Khalilullah, Basheer Owais Bukhari Naqshbandi, Mohd AbdulRubb Hamid Qadri, VP finance committee, were among the guests.

In Qirat competition (Qur’an recitation), Qari Azeem Ahmed Azmat ullah of fourth standard won the first prize, Fawaz Farooq of class four the second prize and Waleed Qazi Mohd Sulaiman of class three the third prize respectively.

In Naat competition Mohd Atif Shiek came first, Mohd Hafiz second, Azeem Ahmed Azmatullah third while Mohd Ayan Sheik won a consolation prize.

In Urdu speech competition Fawaz Farooq won the first position, Mohd Wasifuddin Ansari the second and Azeem Ahmed Amatullah the third position.

In English speech competition Mohd Atif Shiek took first, Mohd Ayan Shiek finished second and Mohd Siddiq Ansari came third.

Meanwhile in the Islamic Quiz competition the winning team was the Fareeq Haji Muneerudin. Quiz competition was prepared and presented by Anwaari.

The program concluded with the awarding of the certificates and degrees to the students who passed the examinations from Darul Ilm by the chief patron, president, chief guests and distinguished guests. Darul Ilm teachers Maulana Hafiz Syed Ubaid Ullah, Hafiz Qari Syed Durwaish Mohiuddin and Qari Mohd Aijaz Sabri were also awarded appreciation certificates.

Mohd Maslah uddin Jawid briefed all about the 21-year long journey and services of Darul Ilm. Abdul Rahman M. Baig, Mohd Shoeb Ali, Mohd Masiuddin Kaleem, Mohd Asim Idris Sabri, Mohd Khawaja and Mohd Haji helped to make the event successful. Mohammed Nizamuddin Ghouri proposed the vote of thanks.
