Indian consul general unveils logo of Telangana Day event

— The logo of Telangana Day, depicting the composite culture of the youngest Indian state which carries a cultural heritage of hundreds of years, was unveiled by Indian Consul General Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh.

Telangana Day will be organized by the Consulate General of India in cooperation with the Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN) and Jeddah Telangana community as part of India@70 celebrations on Dec. 15 and 16. The two-day event will showcase the rich cultural heritage while also highlighting the modern and an industrialized Telangana that offers immense opportunities to investors and entrepreneurs.

Consul General Sheikh, during the launch, said, the idea of designing the logo was very unique and it shows the unity of the people of Telangana. The need of the hour is to be united and make Telangana Day a memorable and successful event.

The logo is a fine depiction of the spirit of Telangana, which takes pride in its unity in diversity and richness of its cultural heritage.

Sheikh hoped that like the logo, the event would also showcase the multifaceted Telangana with all its grace and grandeur. “I wish that the Telangana community will showcase the state in such a manner that it will attract Saudi and other foreign investors.”

Sheikh further said, Telangana festival will be followed by festivals of other states.

Seven teams have been formed for the Telangana Day celebration, which will see cultural and folklore shows along with other entertainment like quiz contest, skits and musical events.

The task to all the seven team have been assigned such that cultural and traditional events of the state will be emphasized while stressing the business opportunities and growth and development of the young state.

Focus will be on Digital Telangana, depicting the growth of IT industry and incentive given by the state government to young entrepreneurs. In addition to investment opportunities, the celebrations will also highlight tourist destinations in the state and a fusion of tradition and current trends in fashion.

Mohammed Al Qureshi and the project head of the event theme Mazahar Siddiqui, said the logo has been designed using both vector artwork and digital imagery in order to present to the audience a clear picture. The logo depicts the philosophy and the evolution of Telangana State. The arms have a Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar in the middle and bordered in pink and green which represents the identity of Telangana State. The logo is a unique blend of the state’s heritage and modernity with simplified iconic buildings from Osmania University, High-tech City, the famous Makkah Masjid, Birla Mandir, St. Mary’s Church and the historic Muharram of Hyderabad reflecting state’s pluralism. Other added features in the logo are the Indian roller, the official state bird of Telangana and Bathukamma flowers, the floral festival celebrated predominantly by the Hindu women of Telangana.

Mohammed Shahid Alam, deputy consul general and Haj consul, and other consuls – Dr. Mohammed Noorul Hassan, Anand Kumar, Head of Chancery Yogesh Kumar Shukla and Moin Akhtar, Amjad Shareef, SIBN coordinator from the Consulate and Mir Ghazanfar Ali Zaki, general secretary of SIBN, were among those who attended the function.
