JEDDAH — Lebanese musician Michel Fadel amused his fans with a two-day musical concert at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) over the weekend.

He performed various Western numbers, such as Brucia la terra, the theme song of “The Godfther”.

He also played legendary Arabian classics by Fairouz and Umm Kulthum before presenting several of his own compositions. He then performed a special song that he made just two weeks ago for the benefit of cancer fighters.

Fadel expressed his joy for being able to perform in Saudi Arabia for the first time.

“I am so glad for being the first Lebanese composer who plays in Saudi Arabia. I felt like I was playing piano for the first time in my life. I thank the General Entertainment Authority and the KAEAC for hosting me here,” he said.

Zaki Hassanin, a member of the audience who is an expert in event management, said: “The concert was so beautiful we were glad to attend it. The performance of Michel Fadel was marvelous. I have admired the setup by the event organizers E-plus Events, (a company under Okaz Organization)”.

Saudi woman Enas Alsumairy who attended the concert said: “I liked it so much because it was different and new. We are not used to having music events and singing concerts in Saudi Arabia”.

Fadel, a composer and pianist, is today one of the most famous Arab musicians. He has been playing piano since the age of three. He got his master’s degree in piano from the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music. He studied music composition and orchestra leadership at the Bologna Conservatory in France.
