Our expertise in corruption

IF we want to identify the forms and types of corruption, the list will be very long and we may not be able to complete the task successfully because corruption is reborn with new faces and shapes all the time just like germs that mutate and become more harmful or cancerous cells that metastasize and become deadly. However, some forms of corruption stem from our ability to innovate and continue without any noticeable signs despite the great harm they inflict on the country.

Why are the competent authorities allowing the construction of new neighborhoods that are rapidly expanding without any attention paid to the basic services before, during or after their construction?

What do you call this kind of corruption? What are its causes? All the cities of the Kingdom suffer from this problem, and I will give you a striking example of the calamity known to everyone in the city of Jeddah, the second largest city in Saudi Arabia, where every official must know what is happening around him.

A new neighborhood was established a few years ago in a strategic location in the north of Jeddah. It was surrounded by King Abdullah Stadium, the airport, the new building of King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Jeddah University, Haramain Railway and other huge facilities. This beautiful neighborhood, which grew rapidly attracting new organizations and commercial markets, still lacks basic facilities such as public schools, a primary health center, police station and other government services.

The neighborhood does not have a single traffic sign and no sidewalks along its narrow streets, which are full of dirt and construction debris. The situation persisted for many years without anyone paying any attention.

How was this situation allowed to begin with in the first place and how was it allowed to continue? And why was it not addressed so far? Who will give us the answers?
