IISJ, BISCJ and PISJ-A record wins in SCC-WPCA event

JEDDAH — International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), Bangladesh International School and College Jeddah (BISCJ) and Pakistan International School Jeddah, Azizia (PISJ-A) emerged victorious in the first matches of the U-19 Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2017 conducted by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) under the Saudi Cricket Centre Youth Development Program at the WPCA complex.

Six teams are participating in the T20 ties. Group ‘A’: IISJ, BISCJ and Al-Waha International School Jeddah (Al-Waha). Group ‘B’: PISJ-A, Al-Wurood New International School Jeddah (Al-Wurood) and Al-Falah International School Jeddah (DPS).

IISJ were victorious over DPS with 74 runs. IISJ totaled 205 for 4. Mohammad Saad scored 83 (48 balls with 11 fours), Faisal Patel got 41 (6 fours) and Omar Waseem scored 37 n.o. Taha Mehdi grabbed 2 for 33 while Attaur Rehman and Atif took one wicket each. DPS could manage 130, in which Taha Mehdi (32), Ibad ur Rehman (17 n.o.) and Atif (18) were the notable batsmen. Faisal Patel (2-20) and Omar Waseem (2-27) starred. Mohammad Saad was man of the match.

BISCJ defeated New Al-Wurood by 93 runs. BISSJ scored 163 for 6 wickets first. Hussain Babu scored 48 runs (4 fours), Fahad (34), Jihan (24), Rizwan (16) and Faheem (14). Nawaz grabbed 3 for 15 while Sufiyan, Nihal and Joel took one wicket each. In response, New Al-Wurood managed 69 runs. Rayyan (3-8) and Jiyad (3-11) were outstanding while Abdullah and Hanif took one wicket each. Hussain Babu was man of the match.

PISJ-A defeated Al-Waha by 9 wickets. Al-Waha scored 93 for 7 with Sahan (17) and Yasir Aleem (23) contributing. Abdullah Rizwan picked up 4 wickets and Kheezr took 2 for 11. PISJ-A then raced to victory with Abdullah Rizwan scoring 45 n.o. for the man of the match award. — SG
