Palot makes it fourth overall, Bayag repeats in OFBC monthly series

— A second consecutive win and fourth overall for Johara Palot and back-to-back victories for Jose Antonio Bayag Jr. marked the November tournament of the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) Bowler of the Month series at the Iceland Bowling Center here.

The victory enabled Palot to pass Malou Nidoy as the bowler male or female with the most number of wins at four in the series that culminates in the Bowler of the Year finals.

Palot bested fellow handicap-rich bowler in Carol Rio in becoming the November champion, shooting a five-game with handicap series of 977 to Rio’s 872.

Palot shot scratch games of 113, 163, 132, 169 and 180 while Rio, who is yet to win a leg, carded 130, 168, 98, 147 and 109. Aisah Silabay was second runner-up on 871 while Malou managed a podium finish at fourth place on 843.

On the men’s side, Bayag sustained momentum of his October victory to shoot the winning total of 938 on games of 172, 131, 158, 171 and 186. Randy Del Remedios tallied 933, five pins back, in first runner-up position on games of 203, 135, 144, 134 and 227.

Edwin Agustin was second runner-up after compiling 910 (184, 157, 153m 137 and 159) while Noli De Leon took the third runner-up spot on 902 (142m 186, 150 and 150). Winners received cash prizes during the awards ceremony.
