RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman received a phone call from US President Donald Trump on Tuesday during which the King stressed that any US declaration on the status of Al-Quds before a final settlement would provoke Muslims all over the world since they hold Al-Quds in high esteem and Al-Aqsa is their first Qibla.

This proposed move will harm the peace negotiation process and escalate tension in the region, the King said.

Pointing out the unwavering stance of Saudi Arabia toward the Palestinian cause, King Salman told Trump that the Kingdom was and is still committed to supporting the Palestinian people and their rights.

The King stressed that such a dangerous step of the relocation of US embassy to Al-Quds or recognition of Al-Quds as the capital of Israel will provoke Muslims all over the world due to the status of Al-Quds and as Al-Aqsa Mosque is the first Qiblah for all Muslims. — SPA
