Saudia all set to open Jeddah city terminal

— Saudia passengers in Jeddah can now skip the long queues at King Abdulaziz International Airport and proceed straight to the security check with the scheduled opening of the airline›s city terminal check-in facility on Wednesday.

Located at Saudia City on Prince Saud Al-Faisal Street, formerly Rawdah Street, in Khalediya district, the city terminal is Saudi Arabian Airlines; first check-in service outside of Jeddah airport and will offer increased convenience to passengers traveling out of Jeddah.

The new check-in facility will also spare passengers of the trouble of traveling to the airport with heavy luggage, and in case of any discrepancies in the luggage, the passengers will have sufficient time to make the needed modifications.

The city terminal location can also be reached through SAPTCO›s bus number 7A, which starts from downtown Balad.

Emir of Makkah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has lauded Saudia›s initiative to open the city terminal, according to the airline.

The facility, to be formally opened on Wednesday, will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during week days, according to Mansour Al-Otaibi, public relations manager of Saudia.

He said the working hours could be extended further depending on demand.

Passengers can check in at the city terminal from 24 hours to 8 hours prior to departure.

Initially, the facility will have five check-in counters with separate arrangement for persons with special needs and VIPs. The baggage wrapping service is also available.

Al-Otaibi said checked-in passengers will be issued boarding passes and baggage claim tags, and they can directly proceed to security screening on reaching the airport.

“Our new city check-in facility will be a great value addition for our passengers, helping them to reduce the amount of time they need to spend at the airport and making the process of flying just a little more hassle-free”, he added.

This will be the third city check-in terminal of Saudia after similar facilities already operating in Dammam and Riyadh.
