MAKKAH
— A group of intruders opened fire on a vehicle belonging to the Saudi Wildlife Authority on Tuesday in Al-Muwayh governorate.

The authority's guards spotted a vehicle roaming around one of the wildlife reserves and approached the vehicle. In their attempt to escape, the intruders fired on one of the patrol vehicles.

The authority reported the incident to the police, who are currently searching for the intruders.

The authority said incidents of hunters digressing into wildlife reserves are common and the latest was the fourth in a few months. In all previous cases, the intruders were arrested and penalized. Most of them come to hunt the deer in restricted zones.
