NATIONAL Geographic Abu Dhabi (NGAD), in long standing partnership with Almarai, announced the launch of ‘Operation Almarai’, a unique documentary providing a rare insight into the operations of Almarai, the world’s largest vertically integrated dairy company and the region’s largest food and beverage manufacturing and distribution company.

The documentary showcases Almarai’s pivotal operations role in producing over 8 million units of fresh dairy, bakery and juice products every single day, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

It covers the company’s massive operations with a highly efficient transport and logistics division and a 9,000-vehicle-strong fleet delivering to over 100,000 retailers in the MENA region.

The documentary also shows the contribution of Almarai to the economy of the Kingdom but beyond that to other countries as well, through its sophisticated supply chain operation.

Commenting on the documentary, Hussam AbdulQader, executive vice president corporate marketing Almarai, “This documentary is a piece that sheds light and will provide an understanding on the commitment and efficiency of Almarai.

The film brings to life the company’s logistics and operations, peppered with interviews and real moments that immerse viewers in the story, with exciting aerials, ground footage and time lapses highlighting the magnitude, scale and size of operations.

Shot in Almarai’s central processing plant and several of their depots. Providing exciting real-life moments, the film shadows workers engaged in daily activities, from production to distribution and handling.

Commenting on the film’s unveiling, Sanjay Raina, general manager and senior vice president of Fox Networks Group said: “We are so proud of this film, marking the 40th anniversary of Almarai, a pioneering Saudi company that has become a global benchmark in its industry.

“In this film, we wanted to shed light on the complicated operations and logistics that Almarai undertakes everyday within each of it’s departments. Using a period in the calendar year that is significantly higher in demand as the thread throughout the piece

“Haj was a prime example of how Almarai is able to manage extreme numbers without compromising on quality.”

The film is set to air on National Geographic Abu Dhabi across the region at 11:00 p.m. UAE time and 10:00 p.m. KSA time on Dec. 18.
