JEDDAH — Memon Welfare Society (MWS) Jeddah, under the banner of Memon Association Saudi Arabia (MASA), has been serving the community in Saudi Arabia.

MWS-MASA’s exemplary welfare services can be compared with any international welfare organization and has propelled it to the forefront of welfare activities.

Dr. Mohammed Umar Chapra, scholar, author of several books on Islamic banking and economics and recipient of King Faisal Award, said that all social and welfare forums in Saudi Arabia should follow in the footsteps of MWS-MASA.

He expressed great pleasure on MWS-MASA entering the advanced digital world by launching its official website.

The event was hosted by two Memon schoolgirls Tubah Ismail Menda, who was on BBC recently as an anchor, and Anzalna Jawed Ashraf Kherani. Both conducted the event in English and Urdu simultaneously.

The event commenced with recitation of few verses from Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Mohammed Ahmed Kamal Makki while Naat was read by Aqsa Irfan.

Irfan H. Ahmed Kolsawala, president MWS-MASA, welcomed the guests and thanked all who attended the event. He specially thanked Chief Guest Dr. M. U. Chapra as well as foreign dignitaries Nowshad Gani, deputy president World Memon Organization (WMO) UK, Ehsan Gadawala, president WMO India Chapter, Haseen Aghadi, president DMJ Mumbai, India.

Secretary General Tayyab Moosani updated all on the activities of MWS-MASA. Moosani said in the last Award Ceremony, a philanthropist announced full sponsorship of design, developing and constructing official website of MWS-MASA.

That philanthropist was Imran Amin Maskatia, owner of Taza Grill restaurant and expert in IT field, who created an excellent website during short time.

Moosani expressed thanks to him and Abdul Qader Teli, who also contributed in completing the website of the Society. He also briefed all about the society’s social and welfare activities.

Dr. Chapra was invited to launch official website of MWS-MASA by writing URL of website on the computer i.e. www.masawelfare.com. After the launch, the sponsor and designer of theh website Maskatia gave complete presentation of website.

Dr. Chapra and other foreign dignitaries congratulated MWS for launching an excellent website of the society. Guests showed great interest in the website and they started registering their membership online.

Maskatia was presented a plaque as a token of appreciation. All foreign guests were also presented plaques for their outstanding services in social and welfare services. Event was attended by M. Iqbal Advani, M. Ismail Badi, Abdul Rahman Merchant, M. Amin Al Maimani, Sheikh Luqman, Mohammed Chapra, Sohail Mitha, Shoaib Sikander, Rashid Kasmani, Ahmed Kamal Makki, Jawed Ashraf Kherani, Owais Rawani and their families. Vice President Younus Habib gave vote of thanks.
