RIYADH
— The Hawair Theater is one of the favorite edutainment destinations for families visiting the events of the second King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, which coincides with mid-term school break.

Al-Arifi said the character of Hawair is inspired by the son of a she-camel, which will have a remarkable presence in the festival accompanied by children. Among many other activities, children participate in bilateral dialogues that expand their perceptions. The theater is open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Arifi explained that the theater presents plays, folk dances and stories, with actors praising the legacy of the camel and its status in society.

Workshops are held for children to acquire some skills such as calculation and useful information about camels.

He said there are four workshops: Sport Hawair, Hawair the Scholar, Hawair the plastic artist and others. The events target children aged from five to 13 years and their families.

The theater also presents a stand-up comedy and musical performances, interactive programs, competitions and gifts.

Al-Arifi stressed the importance of enriching children with historical, scientific and artistic information and skills through fun and entertainment.
