Different societies view women who turn 40 in different ways. In some societies, a 40-year-old woman is considered old, and, in fact, people feel that there is no difference between a woman in her 40s and one in her 60s. Both are considered old. Some societies, on the other hand, believe that 40 is the age when women become mature. These perspectives really depend on the time and era.

Around 20 years ago, a 40-year-old woman would view herself as being as old as a woman in her 60s because of the physical changes she would experience in her body. At that time, women would be exhausted by the time they turned 40 because they would have given birth to many children and would have done a lot of household work in addition to other physical types of labor.

At the time, only the lucky ones would not experience the changes of turning 40 thanks to their kind-hearted husbands. Unfortunately, the majority of women turning 40 would have wrinkles appearing all over their faces because of their cruel husbands and the way they would be treated.

The situation now is different. A woman who turns 40 today will have a fully developed and mature personality, in addition to a sense of independence. The 40-year-old woman today is often a team manager, developing solutions that help businesses overcome obstacles. Others are in senior positions within the companies that they work for.

With regard to femininity, a woman who turns 40 today feels stable and mature and often feels that she has completed her life mission of having children, taking care of them and being there for them. She is now free and able to enjoy her time by reading books, wearing trendy clothes and visiting her friends.

Moreover, she feels nonchalant and does not care what others think of her and how they judge her. She is now independent and educated.
