January 21, 2018

JEDDAH — Al Ahli & Saudi national team player Mutaz Husawi was ranked seventh in Asia's top center back 2017 ranking.

The list was published by the world's leading football website "transfermarket" which is considered as the world's top website for football transfers, values, news & statistics.

The British site classified Mutaz as the only Asian player to maintain his presence in Asia's top ten center back ranking since January 2017 until December.

The list saw dominance of east Asian players over west Asians with eight players, which also saw Australia & British Bristol City captain Bailey Wright as the only player in the list, playing outside the continent.

The list informs that Mutaz Husawi was the top Saudi center back goal scorer with four goals and the second of Asian players.

Mutaz Husawi was approached during September & November 2017 by representatives from Italian clubs US Palermo, Vicenza Calcio & Torino FC for a potential summer move, but contacts were halted until June 2018.
