Ministry of Culture takes part in Yemeni humanitarian initiative

RIYADH – The Ministry of Culture and Information is extending full support to the humanitarian aid initiative aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
As part of the Comprehensive Plan for Relief Operations in Yemen, the ministry organized on Wednesday a program to visit famous social networking sites that cover the humanitarian initiatives.
The program was attended by Khaled Al-Ghamdi, acting undersecretary for external media at the ministry, and a number of artists including Faiz Al-Malki, Faisal Abdul Kareem, Abdullah Al-Bandar and Sami Al-Shaibani.
The team also participated in the humanitarian aid dispatch mission through air bridge program from Riyadh to the Yemeni city of Marib on Wednesday. The planeload of relief supplies reached Marib for distribution among refugees at a camp in Safer region.
In a related development, Yemeni Minister of Public Works Dr. Moeen Abdulmalik and Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al-Jaber signed in Riyadh on Wednesday a humanitarian grant agreement within the executive program for the comprehensive humanitarian operations plan in Yemen.
Al-Jaber said the agreement covers renovation of a main road extending from central Yemen to Aden seaport and airport. The cost of the project amounts to $5 million and will be carried out within 60 days.
